How we got here.

Infomatrix started with a background you might not expect. Our founder holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Calgary, not a computer science degree. That foundation in understanding people, organizations, and how systems actually work turned out to be the perfect setup for IT consulting. The technical skills came through hands-on experience, starting with helping an organization transition from paper-based case management to digital systems over a decade ago.

Since then, the practice has grown across a wide range of industries: oil and gas, healthcare, homecare, pharmacy, persons with disabilities services, and natural gas distribution. That cross-sector experience is what makes us generalists who can actually go deep. We've managed everything from MS365 migrations to ERP rollouts to cybersecurity incident response, often for clients who had no internal IT at all.

Today, the practice covers both IT and operations. One side handles infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and the technical work. The other covers workflow design, documentation, administrative support, and the organizational side of running a business. Together, we handle the full range of what most small businesses, nonprofits, and utility operators need to run smoothly.

Home office in Barnwell, with most of our day-to-day work across Taber, Lethbridge, Coaldale, and surrounding communities. Most clients are on managed services plans. We also take on projects and one-time work when the fit is right.

Our deepest client relationships aren't vendor contracts. They're embedded partnerships where we operate as part of the team. We know the staff, the systems, the seasonal workflows, and the politics of the boardroom.

One of our utility clients started with a server and networking project. We stayed, learned their full technology stack, and eventually they brought on a second consultant from our practice to cover operations and admin full time. Their GM highlights our work in her AGM report to the membership.
